The East Midlands Widening Participation Research and Evaluation Partnership (EMWPREP) was formed in July 2011 in response to the cut in Aimhigher funding. The partnership (comprising of thirty-seven members) utilises data to effectively target learners for interventions, captures and stores learner data on a bespoke Database, and deploys appropriate methods to monitor and evaluate members’ outreach work, with the aim of tracking learners through their educational lifecycle.
Our Data Compliance Agreement (DCA) details the different ways EMWPREP gather, share and publish data including through the EMWPREP Monitoring and Evaluation Database; and via suitably deployed evaluation methods.
Our Database is a web-enabled secure platform which serves as a central information access and storage point for participating HEIs, FECs and NCOPs across the Midlands region. It is used to record widening participation outreach and recruitment activities and their participants, as well as other related data. Data will be used to monitor participants to examine the impact made upon them in terms of widening participation for under-represented groups within the Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) sectors. further details of how data is used can be found here.
EMWPREP also use a variety of evaluation methods in order to assess the effectiveness of members’ outreach and recruitment activities including, but not limited to, questionnaires, focus groups and interviews.
Our DCA is signed by all partners, and reviewed on an annual basis.
